Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4 November 2026
This policy explains what information the Glooplings website (glooplings.com) collects, why, and the choices you have. “We” and “us” mean Glooplings. If you have a question, email admin@glooplings.com.
The short version
- You can explore the site as a guest without giving us anything.
- If you make an account, we keep your email address and which Glooplings you’ve collected.
- We don’t sell your information, show ads, or use tracking or advertising cookies.
- You can ask us to delete your account at any time.
What we collect
When you create an account
- Email and password. Your password is stored scrambled (hashed), so nobody, including us, can read it.
- If you use “Continue with Google”, Google tells us your email address, name and profile picture. We only ask Google for basic profile information.
When you use your account
- Your collection: which Glooplings you’ve claimed, when, and how (QR link, scanner or photo upload).
- Claim attempts: the codes you try and when, so we can stop people guessing codes.
- Play: when you tickle, feed, pet or bounce a Gloopling, so its reactions can remember you.
Camera and photos
The “Scan a Gloopling” scanner uses your camera only while it’s open, and only to read the QR code. Pictures from the camera, and photos you choose to upload, are read on your own device and are never sent to us or stored.
On your device
The site saves a few small settings in your browser’s storage: that you’re logged in, a Gloopling you were in the middle of claiming, and whether sound is on. These aren’t used for tracking and you can clear them in your browser settings.
Technical information
Like every website, the companies that run our hosting (see below) see basic technical details such as your IP address and browser type when pages load. They use these to deliver the site and keep it secure.
How we use it
- To run your account and show your collection on any device you log in on.
- To send account emails you ask for, like confirming your email or resetting your password. We don’t send marketing emails.
- To keep the site safe, for example by limiting how fast codes can be tried.
Who helps us run the site
We use a few trusted services. They only handle your information to provide their service to us:
- Supabase stores accounts and collections and sends account emails.
- Netlify hosts the website.
- Google provides “Continue with Google” sign-in (only if you choose it) and the site’s fonts.
- jsDelivr delivers some of the site’s code.
These services may store information on servers outside your country. We don’t share your information with anyone else unless the law requires it.
Children
Glooplings are toys that children love, so we keep things simple: no ads, no public profiles, no chat, and no way for other people to see your collection. If you are under 13 (or under the age of digital consent where you live), please ask a parent or guardian before making an account. A parent or guardian should create and manage it for you.
If you are a parent and think your child has given us information without your permission, email admin@glooplings.com and we will delete it.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and collection until you delete your account or ask us to. Claim-attempt records are only needed for security and may be removed sooner.
Your choices and rights
- See or fix your information: email us and we’ll tell you what we hold.
- Delete your account: email admin@glooplings.com from the address on your account. We’ll delete your account, your collection and your play history.
- Google sign-in: you can remove Glooplings’ access at any time in your Google Account settings.
Depending on where you live, you may have extra rights under local privacy laws. Just ask and we’ll help.
Keeping it safe
The site only loads over a secure (https) connection. Each account can only see its own collection, and Glooplings can only be added to a collection by our server after it checks the code.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. If a change is important, we’ll make it clear on the site.
